The City of Sioux Falls Police Department, Animal Control Division is seeking a temporary Animal Control Field Officer Assistant. $10.00 hourly. Position duration 4 months, May 21 to September 3, dates subject to applicant’s schedule. Duties include setting and monitoring animal traps as requested by homeowners, catching & lodging domestic animals, releasing/housing trapped animals, picking up and properly disposing of dead animals as needed; assisting Animal Control Officers of their duties. Qualified applicants should have Graduation from high school or GED certification, US Citizen, has not unlawfully used any prescribed drug, controlled substance, or marijuana within one year before the time of application, no convictions of any crime by any state or federal government punishable by imprisonment in a federal or state penitentiary, and must be at least 18 years of age and possess valid driver’s license. Must be willing to work weekends, evenings and holidays as required. EOE.
