On Wednesday, December 7, the Sioux Falls Area Drug Task Force (SFADTF) executed a search warrant at 1509 East 27th Street. This warrant was the result of a month-long investigation into the distribution of marijuana in a Drug-Free Zone that began with a Crime Stoppers tip. The house is located approximately one-half block east of Horace Mann Elementary School.

A violation and conviction of distributing marijuana in a Drug-Free Zone (within 1,000 feet of a public, private, elementary, or secondary school or playground) results in a mandatory minimum of five years in prison, per SDCL 22-42-19.

Evidence seized as a result of the search consisted of 7 ounces of marijuana, ecstasy, a digital scale, packaging material, $1,110.00, and numerous items of paraphernalia.

The following is a list of those arrested and their charges:

Resident—Phillip Carlos Sylvester, date of birth March 8, 1985, was lodged for:

• Possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces).
• Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (1 ounce to 1/2 pound).
• Possession of controlled substance (ecstasy).
• Distribution of marijuana in a Drug-Free Zone.
• Possession of paraphernalia.
• Drug warrant service.

Resident—Elizabeth Gregory Ann Williams, date of birth December 27, 1991, was lodged for:

• Possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces).
• Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (1 ounce to 1/2 pound).
• Possession of controlled substance (ecstasy).
• Distribution of marijuana in a Drug-Free Zone.
• Possession of paraphernalia.
• Warrant service.

Resident—Willie John Felder Jr., date of birth April 4, 1986, was lodged for:

• Possession of marijuana (greater than 2 ounces but less than 1/2 pound).
• Possession of marijuana with intent to distribute (1 ounce to 1/2 pound).
• Possession of a controlled substance (ecstasy).
• Distribution of marijuana in a Drug-Free Zone.
• Possession of paraphernalia.
• Warrant service.

Brian Lamar Turner, Sioux Falls resident, was lodged for:

• Possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces).
• Possession of paraphernalia.

Randy Michael Hernandez, Sioux Falls resident, was lodged for:

• Possession of marijuana (less than 2 ounces).
• Possession of paraphernalia.
• Warrant service.

Rene Anthony Hernandez, Sioux Falls resident, was lodged for:
