Title: It’s Not Too Late to Stop the Flu!

Though we are into December, there are still several months left of the flu season. The City of Sioux Falls Health Department would like to encourage everyone to get their annual influenza vaccine.

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends annual influenza vaccination for all individuals age six months and older.

The vaccine is especially important for people at higher risk of severe influenza and their close contacts, including children less than five years of age, the elderly, and anyone with a chronic medical problem.

For more information on influenza, contact your personal health care provider, the Centers for Disease Control at 800-232-4636, or visit their website at www.cdc.gov/flu. If you do not have a personal physician, you may contact Falls Community Health at 367-8793.
