During this holiday season while you and your family are out enjoying the wonderful lights and displays, the Public Works Light Division is asking for your help in reporting any street lights that are not functioning.
The Light Division relies on citizens to report street lights that are not working properly in residential areas all year long. There are 17,000 high-pressure sodium street lights within the city limits. On average, each of these fixtures will require a visit for maintenance every five years.
To report a nonfunctioning street light please call the Light Division at 605 373-6979 and just leave a message after business hours or log on to the City of Sioux Falls’ website, www.siouxfalls.org/PublicWorks/electric_light/how_to_report.
An accurate description of the location of the street light is the best way to ensure a prompt repair. For a light out in residential areas, please provide the adjacent house address or the street intersection. For lights along an arterial street, a majority of the poles have a number approximately six feet above the ground for identification along with street information.
We appreciate your assistance, and will make every effort to perform a timely repair. Enjoy the holiday displays.
