On December 22, 2011, at 8:41 p.m., Sioux Falls Police and Fire Rescue responded to the Empire Mall food court regarding a plastic bottle bursting. Investigation at the scene showed that a plastic water bottle, filled with what was most likely a household chemical, burst, spraying liquid 10 to 15 feet. Although people were sitting nearby, no one was injured.

The investigation continues. The Sioux Falls Police ask for any witnesses or people with information to call CrimeStoppers at 367-7007.
