A press conference was held today, January 20, 2011, at 1 p.m. at City Hall. The Events Center Request for Proposals Technical Review Committee conducted interviews yesterday for the Construction Manager at Risk Services for the Events Center. The following teams were interviewed:

• Hunt Construction Group and Fiegen Construction
• Mortenson Construction
• Sioux Falls Construction and Henry Carlson Joint Venture

We are excited to announce the team selected was Mortenson Construction. “It is an honor to be selected to work with the City of Sioux Falls in their pursuit of a new Events Center,” said Ken Sorensen, Vice President and General Manager of Mortenson Construction’s Minneapolis office. “As the construction manager of multiple events centers across the Midwest and nationally, we look forward to working closely with the Sioux Falls community and local builders to bring this project to reality.”

This team will be introduced at the City Council Informational Meeting during the Events Center Update agenda item on Monday, February 14, 2011, at 4 p.m. at Carnegie Town Hall, 235 West Tenth Street.
