On January 1, 2012, Sioux Falls Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched to a structure fire at 233 South Duluth Avenue, No. 2, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A small fire was quickly extinguished by Sioux Falls Fire Rescue.
After the fire was extinguished, investigators found meth-making components inside the apartment. It appears the fire was a result of the methamphetamine manufacturing process. Narcotics detectives processed the scene and collected evidence. One resident of the apartment was treated at Sanford Hospital for minor burns. No arrests have been made at this time, but arrests are expected in the future.
