On January 16, 2012, at approximately 11 a.m., Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded to a semitruck fire at 5301 North Cliff Avenue. First-arriving crews found smoke and flames coming from a semitruck that was parked west of the truck stop. The trailer was not involved in the fire. Crews had the fire under control in approximately ten minutes. The truck was a total loss. Two other trucks sustained minor damage.

The drivers of the trucks were out of their vehicles prior to Sioux Falls Fire Rescue arriving on scene. There were no Firefighter or civilian injuries.

Sioux Falls Fire Rescue responded with two support vehicles, four fire trucks, and 19 Firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
