On Tuesday, January 24, 2012, Sioux Falls Police conducted a compliance check of 24 off-sale alcohol establishments. Of the 24 establishments, three businesses failed and sold to a person under the age of 21.

The clerks who sold to a minor were issued a citation for furnishing alcohol to a person 18–20 years old (SDCL 35-9-1.1) with a mandatory court appearance required.

The establishments where the alcohol was purchased were:

• Casey’s General Store, 1705 West Burnside Street
• Casey’s General Store, 500 North Kiwanis Avenue
• Get-N-Go, 6201 West 12th Street
