The City of Sioux Falls has completed its year-end evaluation of growth and is estimating the December 31, 2011, population for the city of Sioux Falls to be 156,300. This is a 1,600-person increase from last year or a 1.0 percent annual increase.

The city’s population estimates have been adjusted over the last year to remain consistent with the April 1, 2010, census figure of 153,888. The population of Sioux Falls has grown by over 25,000 people during the last ten years and is growing annually by 2,500 people or 1.8 percent.
