The West Sioux neighborhood has gone through numerous changes over its 100-year existence. Some homes were built prior to 1900, a significant number of houses were constructed in the 1920s, and a boom took place in the 1950s. If the homes could talk, what a story they would have to tell of their lives.
As the larger community of Sioux Falls continues to grow and change, we should take this opportunity to talk about this historic neighborhood and for citizens to discuss their expectations for their community.
Today, January 31, 2012, from 6 to 7 p.m., the City of Sioux Falls will review the initial plans for the recently approved Events Center, the expansion of Russell Street, new projects at Elmwood Park, and repair work along Kiwanis Avenue and Madison Street. The neighborhood meeting will be held in Rooms 8–10 of the Convention Center, 1101 North West Avenue. |
