Water Purification Plant – Temporary Laborer
Rate: $12.00 per hour
Schedule: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday

The City of Sioux Falls Water Purification Plant is accepting applications for a temporary laborer position. $12.00 per hour. Hours for this position will be, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Position will start the first week of April and end the last week of December 2012. Duties include assisting pump and well maintenance mechanics with assorted duties in the City’s well field to include pump cleaning, well structure cleaning, mowing, painting, and weed control. Laborers will be working around heavy equipment, mobile crane, on elevated platforms and over water. Must have the ability to lift and carry 75 pounds and work in varied weather conditions. EOE. 

City of Sioux Falls Public Works Department - GIS Division
Position: INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Rate: $11.00 per hour

The City of Sioux Falls Public Works - GIS Division is seeking applications for two GIS Internships. $11.00 per hour. Position duration a minimum of 4 months, May 1 to August 31, 2012 dates subject to applicant’s schedule. The GIS Intern will be located in the GIS Division or in the Light Division. Specific duties may include GPS acquisition, photo acquisition, feature class editing, map creation, data analysis, data extraction, and more. Duties are performed primarily indoors with field work as assigned. Applicants enrolled in a Geography or Geographic Information Systems curriculum as a full-time student at a college or university fall 2012 semester preferred. ArcGIS knowledge is desired. EOE.
