A city's zoning ordinances shall be consistent with the adopted comprehensive plan. Based upon the adopted Shape Sioux Falls, the zoning ordinance is going through a study to review and possibly amend sections of the code.

In order to review the existing ordinances for consistency with the adopted comprehensive plan for the city, staff is facilitating study groups regarding the following issues.

Citizens and stakeholders are able to participate in various stages and at various levels within these study groups; from attending meetings, reading minutes and proposals, submitting comments, or communicating with staff or other participants. Citizens and stakeholders are able to participate in any or all study groups.

The study groups work to complete a report of their findings which then get presented at a Public Hearing for Planning Commission. If the reports receive support, the reports may be presented to a City Council Committee; and could proceed forward as ordinance amendments to City Council.
